A while ago I was perplexed by Nunes' (R) behavior. Why did he freak
out and do the midnight run? Hailing cabs and making a dash to the
WH. He saw/heard something and he seemed like he was in a panic. He
was complaining loudly about FISA abuse and how innocent Americans
were being survailled and subsequently unmasked.
Funny, I thought at the time. It was the GOP who were all for creating
this secret court out of normal judicial purview back in the day
during the PATRIOT ACT days.
I was also perplex by Rex Tillerson being appointed the Sec. Of
State. Sure he was the CEO of a gigantic corporation. But why him? Out
of all the CEOs in the stratosphere of Corporate America why pick
Tillerson? I had heard about the Rosneft/Exxon deal. And the fact that
the sanctions against Russia put in place by Obama in retaliation for
election interference really put the brakes on the Rosneft/Exxon
deal. Could it be that the Russians encouraged Tillersons
appointment? I'm sure Putin personally stands to gain some serious
Rubles should the Rosneft/Exxon deal resume. I was really on the
fence about that theory. On the one hand, that would quickly explain
why Tillerson got appointed Sec. Of State. But on the other hand I
didn't think they (the Russians, Tillerson) would do something so
Those were two different threads that seemed to be a part of this
Russian mix. I didn't think they were connected at all. That is, until
Turns out, Carter Page - who has been under FISA survaillence for a
while now - was in Moscow announcing Rex Tillerson had been appointed
Sec. Of State one whole day before the announcement was made in the
US. He made the presentation at RT using slides that would have taken
at least a day or so to prepare. Hmm...
Also, it turns out, Devin Nunes' security clearance has been
downgraded where he can no longer have access to intelligence
materials that would have been under his purview at the head of the
oversight committee. Why? Well, apparently, Carter Page (remember, he
was under survaillance at the time) had called Devin Nunes to make the
/recommendation/ to appoint Tillerson as the Sec. Of State. Nunes then
took that to Trump. Trump then dropped Mitt Romney from consideration
and picked Tillerson. That makes sense. That's why Tillerson.
Now, when Nunes saw the reports, he was quickly able to figure out
that one of the inadvertant survaillee was himself! And, knowing the
subject matter of the survaillance report as a participant in the
transgressions that were the subject of the report, he figured out
that Trump was in real close proximity of what was caught in that
survaillance. He had to run to the WH. Relay the peril he saw. And
figure out the next move. Well, they tried to concoct a story about
"FISA abuse!", "Illegal survaillance", "Reckless Unmasking!", "Obama
wiretapped Trump Tower!" (SAD).
When Nunes started making noise about inappropriate unmasking, Adam
Shiff had said that
In my conversation late this afternoon, the chairman informed me that
most of the names in the intercepted communications were in fact
masked, but that he could still figure out the probable identity of
Of course he could work out the identities of the masked parties. He
was one of them!
That's why he was freaking out. Carter Page, while under survaillance,
called Nunes to relay the wishes to have Tillerson be the Sec. Of
State. Nunes ran that back to Trump. All of this was caught on
survaillance. Probably still masked when it was shown to
Congress. Nobody freaks out since no one really knows who is who
except Nunes. He recognizes himself as 'Person X' in the reports.
Fits together like Russian Nesting Dolls doesn't it?
